The Dreaming Place
📍Crafted in Forest Row, East Sussex
The Dreaming Place is an oil painting showing a view through trees across a shimmering bluebell wood. It is 36x30x1.5 inches. The paint has been blurred and textured to look as if the landscape is going in and out of focus and gives the feeling of energy to this transitory but beautiful annual event. There is a hint in the distance of a river bank because it was inspired by a walk I take regularly in the Buxted area along the river Uck. It is called the dreaming place because bluebell woods have that effect especially when the sun is out in the wood and there are enough of them to catch their delicate scent. This is a place I walk every year in April because it is mostly farmland and very quiet except for the birds and sheep and I wanted to try and capture this moment. Painted on deep edge canvas, edges white, no frame needed, ready to hang. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=TuaFWfrJtCI
