Athenas owl is a vibrantly coloured semi abstract art nouveau style painting of a white owl appearing in a magical forest landscape. It is 40x40x1.5 inches (about a metre by a metre). The painting hints at light coming through trees along a central path and the colours are warm autumn colours of golden yellows, pinks and oranges contrasted with a few lilacs and blues. The owl is the bird associated with the goddess Athena and wisdom and I like the natural mysticism that owls have. It is oil on canvas and was made by building a many different layers of transparent colour one over the other which makes the colours differ in interesting ways depending on the angle and type of light you see it in. The shapes are willowy and harmonious and the owl is definitely on a mission looking both aesthetic and deadly at the same time. I have lot of stories in my mind about this painting but feel free to make up your own. It is painted on deep edge canvas, white edges and is ready to hang, frame not necessary and comes with certificate of authenticity.
